RVCS is a California Distinguished School with an Academic Performance Index (API) of 925 in 2011 - the highest for high schools in San Diego County and third in California of schools of similar rankings. We have earned the highest API in San Diego County for seven years in a row and have earned a similar school ranking of 10 for five consecutive years.

Our curriculum prepares students for college and inspires them to become self-motivated, competent, lifelong learners. All RVCS core high school classes have been designed as college preparatory courses and have been approved by the University of California to meet its A to G requirements.

RVCS students can choose on-campus learning or independent study through our Dual Track Program. The Hybrid Track allows for two days on-campus and the remainder of the week in independent study. The Independent Study Track is 100% online study from home.

Our students can graduate with a high school diploma plus an associate degree. The early college program allows students to dive deeper into what is interesting to them and follow their passions as they get a taste of the rigors of academics at community college.
